May 2001 Santa Barbara Wine Tour,

Descanso Gardens

Santa Barbara Wine Tour

In May, we hopped on a bus and headed to Santa Barbara Wine Country with a local wine making shop.

Located one hour North of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara is a land rich with vineyards.
This is King Wai having a nice taste of Chianti.  Notice how straight he is holding his glass.
This is King Wai examining the quality of some of the grape vines.
This is one of the most beautiful and well kept wineries we went to called...
"Bridlewood".
Doorway leading to the vineyard.
This winery actually had the most foul tasting wine I have ever tasted.  Just goes to show, you never know until you have tried it.
This is the last stop of the wine tour.  It has been a long day with allot of drinking.  Notice the way King Wai is holding his glass.  It's not very upright anymore.  Good thing he's not driving!

Descanso Gardens.
Descanso comes from the word descansar in spanish which means to rest.  These gardens are truly a place to rest and enjoy.

This is Lynda immersed in a field of giant poppies.
Here is King Wai strolling down a garden path dotted with white flowers.

Now, Lynda and King Wai had a problem. They both wanted to be in a picture together, but they had nobody to ask to take the picture for them.  So here's what they did.

Let's each take a picture alone ........

on this beautiful bench......

and then later, with a computer, we can put the pictures together.
