| After the wedding, we took a scenic route up the Saramento River |
We stopped at a tiny town called Locke. Locke was a chinese settlement established at the turn of the century. |
The Chinese laborers (who came up the Sacramento River) banded together in this twon, hoping to build a fortune in America |
Today, Locke consists of one main store, two museums and several gift shops. Population is about 60. |

| The houses are run down and in need of restoration |
The town is almost a ghost town. Most of the Chinese have left to go to bigger and better places. This was not where they hoped to stay after they had made some money in America. |
Most houses are two storey, with retail underneath and residential above. |
We went to visit a historical museum |
