Sea World is a great adventure.
There are shows throughout the day to watch, or you can just stroll through and visit the animals. They have kept the park modern by including things like a four-D pirate show and a virtual reality adventure to the North Pole. The latest show, Cirque de la Mer, is from the Montreal based troup Cirque due Soleil. They have a great show right out over the bay. picture source: sea world pamphlet |

Mozart is King Wai's favorite classical
artist, and "Marriage of Figaro" competes with "Barber of Saville" for
Lynda's favorite opera, so when we learned that the Los Angeles Opera was
performing
Mozart's "Marriage of Figaro", we had to attend. Held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, the opera was conducted by Marco Guidarini and the artistic director was Placido Domingo. The singers were breathtaking. Unlike many operas we have seen where only one singer is outstanding, all five leads were outstanding. Richard Bernstein played Figaro, Maria Bayo played Susanna, Jamie Offebach played Dr. Bartolo, Cinthia Jansen sang Marcellina and John Atkins sand Count Almaviva. Although it may take a while to be able to afford
it again, we will definitely return to the Los Angeles Opera.

One great thing about being in Los
Angeles is that great exhibits go through your town. On loan from
the British Museum, was a display of Egyptian treasures.
We spent a long afternoon visiting this display on loan at the Bowers Museum. |
